Montella's PGI chestnut festival, the biggest in Irpinia

The 42nd edition, over five days: Sunday 1 and Monday 2 November, then Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8. Roast chestnuts, oven-baked chestnuts, cakes and mountain dishes at stalls through the centre, made with the village's own PGI chestnut. An hour and a half's drive from Naples: on Sundays parking is outside the centre with shuttles, so aim to arrive by 11am.
