What you’ll do

You start with the tiramisù, which needs to rest while you work on everything else. The chef explains each step and has everyone do it, in Italian and English depending on who’s at the counter, from the mascarpone cream to the layers with biscuits and cocoa.

Then the fresh pasta: flour, eggs and hands. You knead, roll out and shape two different kinds of pasta, with the chef correcting thickness and cut. With ten people at most, there’s time for every question and to redo a step if it didn’t come out right.

At the end you sit round the table and eat what you’ve made, with the starter and a glass of wine; the tiramisù closes the meal. You leave with the diploma and the recipe book, and if you left your suitcases in storage, you pick them up on the way out.

Who it’s for

For anyone who has just checked out of their hotel or has a train to catch and wants to make good use of two hours: the luggage storage solves the problem. Small group, so it also works if you’re starting from zero in the kitchen. Couples, friends, families with older kids who want to get their hands dirty.

Local tip

Book a time that coincides with lunch or dinner: after pasta and tiramisù you won’t eat anything else. Via Medina is five minutes from the Maschio Angioino and the Municipio metro stop, and handy from the port too. If you have luggage, use the storage and add a walk to Piazza del Plebiscito afterwards.

What’s included
