Learn by doing, with Neapolitan masters

Workshops

17 experiences in Naples, picked by people who live here.

The most direct way to take Naples home with you is to learn how to make something. Pizza classes teach you the dough, stretching it by hand and baking it, and you eat what you've made; fresh pasta classes put flour and eggs on the table for ravioli, fettuccine and gnocchi, almost always with tiramisù while you wait. Then there are the less obvious ones: mozzarella shaped by hand in a family dairy, calzone in a real pizzeria, dinner at a Neapolitan's home with a view over the bay. They last two or three hours, work well with children and in the rain, and start from twenty euros.

Frequently asked questions

Workshops in Naples: the things people ask us most.

How long does a pizza class in Naples last, and how much does it cost?

Two to three hours. Prices run from about 25 to 60 euros per person and include ingredients, an apron, the pizza you make and often a drink and tiramisù. Classes inside a working pizzeria cost a little more than those in a cookery school, but you use a real oven.

Are cookery classes suitable for children?

They're among the best things to do as a family: children knead, get messy and eat the result. Go for the midday sessions, so the class doubles as lunch. Duration and group size are shown on each page.

What language are the classes in?

Almost all are in Italian and English, some also in Spanish or French. The language is shown on each class's page, in the details at the top. As they're hands-on, you can follow along easily even without understanding every word.

Can you cancel a class you've booked?

In most cases, yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. The exact terms are on the page under Cancellation and on the platform's page where you complete the booking.
