Capri and Anacapri day trip from Naples by hydrofoil

Capri without queuing at the port ticket office: the hydrofoil is already booked, and on the island there's a minibus to take you up to Anacapri and a guide who walks with you. What you’ll do

You meet at the port of Naples, with the option to add a pick-up in the city. You board the hydrofoil, fifty minutes across the bay, and land at Marina Grande. There, instead of queuing for public transport, the group gets on a private minibus that climbs the hairpin road up to Anacapri, with the sea below.

In Anacapri you walk round the village with the guide: it's quieter and higher up. Then you head down to Capri town: the Piazzetta, the boutique-lined lanes, stories of the island told along the way. You go into the Giardini di Augusto, terraces above the sea with views of the Faraglioni. The rest of the day is yours: lunch, handmade sandals, a stroll. Then the hydrofoil back.

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants to see Capri in a day without sorting out ferries and minibuses themselves, and for cruise passengers: the day is timed around return schedules. Not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone who finds walking difficult, as the island is all slopes and steps. The Blue Grotto and Monte Solaro aren't included.

Local tip

Comfortable shoes and travel light: no suitcases on board. Lunch isn't included, and during free time in Capri places fill up quickly, so decide in advance where you want to eat. In high season departures are confirmed with at least two people, in low season with four. If you're arriving on a cruise, give your ship and port when booking.
