What you’ll do
Meet in Piazza Carità, a step from the Pignasecca. You start with a spritz and a board of cured meats and mozzarella to break the ice, while the guide explains how the market works and where the things you’re about to eat come from, in places where Neapolitans actually go.
Then you walk and eat: a tarallo, a folded pizza a portafoglio to hold in your hand, and the cuoppo, a paper cone of fried fish. The fifth stop is a meatball slow-cooked in ragù. You’re among the market stalls and eateries, with the guide’s stories and tips between one bite and the next.
You finish with dessert: sfogliatella (the shell-shaped pastry) or artisan gelato, your choice, with a limoncello or an espresso. There’s a vegetarian option, to be requested when booking. About two hours in all, six tastings and dessert.
