What you’ll do

The coach collects participants at various points in Naples, including Molo Beverello, with the pickup time confirmed the day before based on where you’re staying. Along the Sorrento peninsula there are photo stops over the bay, then a twenty-minute stop at a limoncello workshop to taste the liqueur and other lemon products.

You continue to the panoramic terrace over Positano, a quarter of an hour to look down on the vertical village and take photos. Then Sorrento, with two free hours: the shopping street, the cloister of San Francesco, a gelato or lunch, which is only included if chosen when booking.

The afternoon is for Pompeii. The guide takes the group into the ruins for an hour and a half to two hours: the Forum, one of the baths, some shops and a domus (a Roman house). The ticket is included and there’s no need to queue at the ticket office. Towards evening the coach takes everyone back to Naples, to the same points where they were picked up in the morning.

Who it’s for

For anyone with just one day who wants to take in the coast, Sorrento and Pompeii without organising trains and ferries, cruise passengers included. Not suitable for anyone with back or cardiovascular problems, pregnant women or anyone who has trouble walking: Pompeii requires good fitness. Babies travel on a lap.

Local tip

In Sorrento the two hours fly by: decide beforehand whether you’d rather have lunch or explore. Bring comfortable shoes and water for the ruins, which are sun-baked in the afternoon. The tour runs rain or shine, and in low season it needs at least six participants to be confirmed.
