Before you even set off: after booking you get an online form where you note what interests you, what you've already seen and what you don't want to miss. The local host writes to you personally and suggests a made-to-measure tour: history, food, neighbourhoods or a mix of everything.
On the day, the host picks you up at your hotel and you walk. Depending on what you've chosen, you might go among the stalls of a street market, into the lanes of the Rione Sanità, into the courtyards of old palazzi, to family-run bars or up to one of the spots overlooking the bay.
There's no group of strangers: it's you and the host, so you set the pace, with breaks when you need them. How long it lasts depends on the option booked, from two to six hours, and the content changes from group to group.
